The Jikiden Reiki Association is an international community of Jikiden Reiki practitioners and teachers supporting each other in their practice of this form of Usui Reiki. The Jikiden Reiki Association is dedicated to promoting communication among Jikiden pracitioners and Jikiden teachers and to providing information about the teaching and traditional practice of a simple, effective and original form of Usui Reiki  taught by Dr. Chujiro Hayashi in Japan in the 1930s. Dr. Hayashi learned Reiki and the Reiki Gokai or precepts directly from Mikao Usui the founder of Reiki and was one of his 22 Reiki teachers.

The Jikiden Reiki Association's primary purpose is to promote the teaching and practice of the form of Reiki that Dr. Hayashi learned from Usui and taught The word "Jikiden" means directly handed down. Jikiden Reiki is closely aligned with the Reiki Gokai (Precepts) for Health and Happiness authored by Mikao Usui and its center is the Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai or Jikiden Reiki Institute in Kyoto, Japan. Mrs. Chiyoko Yamaguchi, the cofounder of Jikiden Reiki took her first Reiki seminar from Chujiro Hayashi in Ishikawa, Japan, in 1938 at the age of 17 and she practiced and taught Reiki in Japan until she died in 2003.

The Jikiden Reiki Kenkyukai was cofounded by Chiyoko Yamaguchi and her son Tadao Yamaguchi. Mr. Yamaguchi and Jikiden teachers taught by the Yamaguchis are currently teaching Jikiden Reiki seminars worldwide. Tadao Yamaguchi's highly recommended book Light on the Origins of Reiki: A Handbook for Practicing the Original Reiki of Usui and Hayashi gives a Japanese spiritual, historical  and cultural context to the practice and origins of Reiki in the world today. We invite all Jikiden Reiki practitioners and Jikiden Reiki teachers to join us in worldwide community through the Jikiden Reiki Association.

Emerald City Reiki Center offers Shoden: 1st level of Jikiden Reiki and Okuden:2nd level of Jikiden Reiki csemars regularly. See our current schedule and seminar costs above.

The first level of Jikiden Reiki is Shoden.  The Japanese word Jikiden means "direct transmission of skill or mysteries". Chiyoko Yamaguchi learned all the student levels of Shoden and Okuden directly from Chujiro Hayashi and was taught the Shihan or teacher levels by her uncle Wasaburo Sugano, one of Dr. Hayashi's Shihans with Dr Hayashi's permission. Jikiden Reiki traces its Shihan Reiki lineage from Mikao Usui to Chujiro Hayashi to Wasaburo Sugano to Chiyoko Yamaguchi to Tadao Yamaguchi. Shoden is a two-day weekend workshop from 9:30a-5p the 1st day with a half hour to hour lunch and 9:30a-5p on the 2nd day.

Completion of a Jikiden Reiki Shoden seminar provides 12 hours of WA and OR massage therapist CEU.

Jikiden Reiki Okuden: $400 class seminar fee, . Mimimum 2 students per class, maxiumu 10 students. Okuden is a one-day workshop from 9:30a-5p usually on Satrday.

A student must have taken Jikiden Reiki Shoden from an authorized teacher in order to join this class. Okuden is the 2nd level of Jikiden Reiki and is considered essential as the completion of the Jikiden Reiki student levels.
